This weeks pattern 121 has ball in hand and the black can go into any pocket.
So this week, I started with the solids or spots as we call them in the UK. They looked really easy, but after trying to pot the 4 ball or even the 7 ball, yeah I gave up as those 'close to rail' shots for me, are so very awkward.
So I decided to start potting strips. My 1st attempt was almost there despite having some issues with missing the most simplest of shots, however practice makes perfect and believe it or not I managed to complete the run.
The video I have linked below is what I had envisaged, however when I potted the 11 ball I didn't hit it hard enough to get the best position for the 8 ball.
But as luck would have it, I made the 8 ball- yay!!!
So this is my best way to run this on a 6ft UK table.
12BS with natural angle for the 13
13TR bump 5 with cueball to clear the way for the 15 ball
9BR little stun follow (if thats a thing) to send the cueball of the side rail for the 15
15TR if not straight on, try not to bump 8 too much ;-)
10BS You need to be above the pocket line to hold the cue ball for the 14
14TS with follow, so we create a natural angle onto the 11 for the 8ball
11BS with a little follow to send the cueball of the side rail and hopefully get a better position for the 8
8TS
Yay, I managed to complete a video of this Pattern.
So Zero-X Billiards, closed the completion for this pattern yesterday and during the night I received and email, as we do each week with Tor's runout of the pattern. I have linked the video below.
What I find interesting is that, apart from the 15ball, I chose the same balls in the same order.
However the 12 and 10 was played to the bottom left pocket, I think mainly because it's a lot harder to get into the middle on a US table from those positions, and Tor is actually playing on a 9ft table too. The only reason I played the 15 earlier in my run, was because I kept getting hung up with the cue ball behind the 1 ball.
So in all I am pretty happy with what I envisaged :-)
